Questions Asked Frequently

Each session fee entitles you to one 15-minute “mini” portrait session. You can buy as many sessions in as many locations as you like, and you can transfer them to anyone. The listing for each session specifies location and time, so make sure the person/people/pets you want us to photograph can and will be at that location during the time noted in the listing. Session fees do not include prints. Prints will be available for purchase after your photographer has chosen, edited and posted low-resolution copies of several print-worthy shots. This typically happens within two weeks after your portrait session.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to continue and grow the Dixie Heights band program, which encompasses Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Indoor Percussion, Winter Guard, Marching Band, Pep Band and more. Dixie Band alumni can attest to the lasting value of competitive music education, as so many of them have gone on to highly successful academic, artistic and professional careers.

After the expenses of this fundraiser are paid, 100% of remaining funds are donated to the DHHS Band Boosters Inc., a not-for-profit Kentucky corporation whose purpose is to support the Dixie Heights band program. Band Boosters pays for things like instruments, amplification systems, competition fees, uniforms, transportation and food for the students.

Once your payment via PayPal is confirmed, you will receive an email from your photographer to help you get ready for your session. We provide location and photographer; you take care of clothing, hair, makeup, accessories and any props you may want to use. Your photographer will answer any related questions you may have in advance of your session. If you paid for a session and more than one business day has passed, yet you haven’t heard from your photographer, please contact us.

Your photographer will keep high-resolution edited images from your session for up to one year, after which your photographer may delete them. Because digital storage systems can fail, we promise to make good faith efforts to preserve your photo files for an entire year, but we do not guarantee your photos will still be available for any set time period. If you want to ensure your favorite photos will not be lost, you can purchase digital downloads and then archive your files in at least two different physical locations.

Rain or other emergencies could cause cancelation of your outdoor mini session. Please make sure your photographer has your mobile phone number so you can be reached in the event of inclement weather or other emergency. If your photographer cancels, you will be entitled to a mini session on a later date to be determined by your photographer. Unless your photographer cancels, if you fail to show up at the appropriate time for the session you purchased, you will have forfeited your session and there will be no “raincheck.” Tip: To prevent rain from affecting your portrait session, opt for an indoor “studio” session inside the DHHS gym!

Options for prints and specialty printed products are almost infinite. So we’ve assembled a short list of products that will be available for sale once portraits have been edited. Here are several popular choices and their prices. If there’s something else you’d like and it’s not on this list, just ask. Assuming it’s something we can offer, we’ll be happy to add it to this list.

*A digital download is a full-resolution jpeg image file suitable for printing. For a treasured photograph, a digital download helps protect your prints against loss or damage. Long after your photographer has deleted all the image files from your session, you can still print from your digital download.
